'Iolani Palace was the Official Residence of King Kalakaua from 1882 until his death in 1891 and of his sister-successor, Queen Lili'uokalani, until the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893.
While exploring ‘Iolani Palace, you'll see the Throne Room, which was the scene of royal audiences, balls and receptions, and the Blue Room, where informal audiences and small receptions took place. Pass through the beautifully carved sliding doors into the State Dining Room, where portraits of German, French, Russian and British rulers and leaders hang on its walls.
